NKK/Nikkai' OLED SmartDisplay and SmartDisplay provides a brilliant, wide viewing
angle with a high contrast resolution format that yields superior clarity and quality.
OLED SmartSwitch and SmartDisplay are programmable modules that display graphics for alphanumeric characters, animated sequences, and video in a vivid 65,536 16bit color format.
The OLED technology allows us to provide a 180 degree viewing angle with high contrast and clarity, with wide temperature ranges of -20 to +70 deg C.
The modules are Epoxy Sealed with Straight PC Terminals to prevent entry of solder flux and other contaminants. Standoffs are utilized to allow for easy, secure mounting and alignment. The OLED SmartSwitch has a life of 1,000,000 actuations.

“Aiming at becoming a great small company”
It has been 50 years since Shigeo Ohashi, who is now serving as chairman of the board, founded Nihon Kaiheiki Industry Co., Ltd. or “Nikkai,” aspiring to create Japan’s top producer of industrial switches. Although this was by no means smooth sailing, the founder’s passion inspired his employees and was endorsed by many people. On the strength of the encouraging support it received, Nikkai has persisted in specializing in switches and taken on the challenges that are associated with manufacturing. Creating a comfortable environment between people and switches, the company has become known as “Nikkai of switches” and “Nikkai of quality.” Nikkai has always provided high quality, high performance switches and has become a prominent manufacturer of industrial switches in Japan.
This 50th anniversary presents an opportune occasion for me to succeed the founder. As Nikkai has already been positioned as a leading manufacturer of industrial switches in Japan, I believe my mission is expressly to facilitate Nikkai’s evolution into the leading switch producer worldwide. My ultimate goal, however, is not to become a big company. It can never be said that the number one company must be a big company. An American best-seller entitled Good to Great states that modern business entities must make the change from good to great. Neither being only good nor being only big will result in a surviving entity. Therefore my goal is for Nikkai to become a great small company that can make a strong impression on customers no matter what its size. I would like to enthusiastically explore our strong points for achieving this goal of becoming the industry leader, as well as give deep consideration to our own specialties. In so doing, I aim for Nikkai to further develop into a unique company by tailoring our business to the needs in certain fields, rather than simply expanding our business. Attaining this goal I believe will subsequently open the doors to our becoming the world’s leading manufacturer of industrial switches.
There is a saying in Japan that a business can last 30 years at the longest. It is solely due to the presence of those who have given their best efforts over the years that we have proven an anomaly to this, and have been able to celebrate our 50th anniversary. I would like to thank all of these individuals for their support and suggestions, and would appreciate their continuing assistance and contributions to Nikkai.

Meeting the needs for frequent repeat actuations, the FP’s rugged construction provides high reliability, smooth actuation and long life of three million actuations minimum. NKK’s new HB2 illuminated pushbutton meets the needs of broadcast, audio and communication equipment with quiet, crisp actuation, tactile feedback and high-reliability. This compact, 7.5mm square pushbutton features NKK’s award winning sliding twin crossbar contact mechanism. The HB2’s crimped terminals prevent dislodging from the PC board during automated soldering. PC terminals conform to standard grid spacing. The HB2 features bicolor illumination in green/red or red/yellow. Additionally, bright orange illumination can be achieved with simultaneous bicolor illumination.

Nihon Kaiheiki announces New Brighter LEDs, designed to be used in the YB, LB and KB series of illuminated pushbuttons.
These new and improved LEDS are now standard options and will replace the previous LEDs offered.
Available in a vast array of options, these new LEDs provide several enhancements including a brighter light source, improved energy efficiency and cost savings as well.
Engineers can specify from single element LEDs to those provided with built-in resistors. LEDs with built-in resistors can be ordered in 5V, 12V and 24V ratings. All LED options are available in brilliant colors of red, green or amber.

NKK announces the TL series fully illuminated toggle switch with bright and super bright LEDs.

The all-new TL series fully illuminated toggle switch can add diversity and style to any application. The TL series is available in double pole double throw with two different toggle lengths: 17.5mm or 11.0mm. Both toggle lengths are translucent with built-in bright or super bright LEDs. The bright LED options are red, green, and amber. The super bright LEDs options are white, green, and blue. The TL series has an optional rubber o-ring for panel seal which qualifies the switch for IP65 of IECC529 specifications.

NKK expands illuminated rocker switch series CW with Single and Double pole.

NKK now offers a double pole single throw and single pole version of the CW series illuminated rocker switch. The full-face and even illumination of the CW series is available with LEDs in red, green, and amber. The CW series is constructed with a snap-acting contact mechanism that provides smooth actuation and audible feedback. The CW snap-in rocker switch is ideally suited for applications of wireless communications, electronic measurement, factory & office automation, and consumer electronic equipment.
